Vodafone Idea launched its 5G service in Mumbai last month and is now going to expand its 5G service to cricket stadiums in 11 cities in India. The ongoing IPL T20 league is being held in these cricket stadiums from March to May, which is why the company has taken this step to ensure fast internet connectivity for users. 5G service is now available at the cricket stadiums in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Visakhapatnam. The company has stated that the aim of this move is to provide better connectivity for the spectators watching the matches. To provide more internet capacity for the estimated users in these cricket matches, Vi has improved its infrastructure. This includes the installation of additional 5G network sites and the integration of technologies like BTS and massive MIMO. According to the company, these changes are designed to provide consistent and high-speed connectivity inside the stadium.

Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), Arun Jaitley Stadium (Delhi), M. Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru), Dr. Y.S.R. ACA-VDCA Stadium (Visakhapatnam), Eden Gardens (Kolkata), Ekana Stadium (Lucknow), M.A. Chidambaram Stadium (Chennai), Maharaja Yadavendra Singh Cricket Stadium (Mullapur, Chandigarh), Namo Stadium (Ahmedabad), Rajiv Gandhi Stadium (Hyderabad), and Sawai Mansingh Stadium (Jaipur) are among the stadiums in India where Vodafone Idea's 5G is currently operational.

In addition to installing 53 new 5G sites, Vodafone Idea has expanded the capacity of 44 existing sites and placed nine cell-on-wheels units throughout the stadium. By turning on 5G settings on their phones, Vodafone Idea users with 5G-capable devices can connect to the stadium's 5G network.
